Ethereum development studio ConsenSys, semiconductor chip producer AMD and Abu-Dhabi based investment management company Halo Holdings have teamed up in order to build new cloud computing infrastructure based on Blockchain technology. ConsenSys declared the latest partnership in a press release on Jan 4.
According to the press release, all the three firms will be working on W3BCLOUD focused on the development of AMD hardware-based datacenter products for rising blockchain workloads. Also, W3BCLOUD will be the first independent cloud computing infrastructure which will support the public as well as private applications and also helps in the adoption of Decentralized Applications.
Joerg Roskowetz, who is the Director of product management and blockchain technology at AMD said that AMD will provide ConsenSys with access to “high-performance technologies competent of better scaling and expanding decentralized networks and services.”
By doing this, ConsenSys will be able to fulfill the demands of various firms and government agencies to use the tech to support smart identity, enterprise data centers, and health ID tracking, to licensing and supply chain management.
ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin said in one of the statement that increasing blockchain networks’ computing power using AMD technology will support “scalable adoption of emerging decentralized systems around the globe” adding:
“The combination of hardware and software will power a new infrastructure layer and enable an accelerated proliferation of blockchain technologies.”
ConsenSys has lately signed a MoU with South Korean technological holdings SK Group in December. The latest move focuses on building an enterprise blockchain business model by using smart contracts. The collaboration will also include Ethereum blockchain technology education for Korean developers via ConsenSys Academy and SK Holdings C&C’s Tech Training Center.
Previously in November 2018, AMD teamed up with 7 popular tech companies in order to generate eight new cryptocurrency mining rigs. AMD mentioned that the collaboration will bring new “blockchain compute solutions” to the market, developed to fulfill various demands of “innovative blockchain platforms”. Moreover, AMD released a video of blockchain explaining the main features of technology, registering trust, integrity, and security as its main benefits.
